KEEP OUR CHILDREN SAFE

Many residents do not realize that our legislators passed a law prohibiting Registered Sex Offenders from residing within 1,000 feet of a school, but it does NOT prohibit them from being on school premises.

Let me repeat that: Convicted Sexual Predators, which includes child rapists, child pornographers, child molesters & more are allowed inside our children's schools!

HB430 Has been introduced!  Click here to read about it.

Our children have the right to be safe while attending school for an education. We as parents should not have to worry about sex offenders having access to our children while they are at school!

We must take a stand and protect ALL children!

Share your thoughts in our new BLOG.

Please take the time to discuss safety issues with your children.  For some excellent advice on talking to your children, please visit this website: Take 25.

Right now each school district can create their own policies regarding Sex Offenders.  The Department of  Education has recommended schools ban all Sex Offenders from school grounds and to make other arrangements for Sex Offender Parents so they can still be involved with their child and not put the rest of the districts children at risk.  Parent / Teacher meetings at the Board of Education Office after hours and video taping events involving their child are some examples. This also protects the Sex Offenders child, so they are not ashamed or bullied at school. MY school has not - even though a sex offender parent has multiple convictions against children and is listed as a Tier III predator (see definition below).

What is your school district doing to keep your kids safe? Don't assume anything, find out! When you find out - CONTACT US and let us know. We would love to hear from you!

There are three types of sex offenders determined by the courts who have to report to the Sheriff in Ohio: Click here for the new definitions.

Some cities are creating their own residence restrictions. Some of these cities have pushed RSO's completely out of their town. They are moving to other towns that do not have strict residency restrictions! Call your city council and find out what they are doing to protect your children.

We need to have comprehensive, enforceable laws to protect our most vulnerable citizens!

Please write a letter to our lawmakers and tell them we must have "PREDATOR FREE ZONES" for our children.
